This 1998 album is a collection of potential movie and film score ideas I have written and composed. Each of these musical pieces incorporates my unique approach to scoring. These arrangements and orchestrations show my early instrumentalist, arranger, and composer skills.
Using my skills for creating unique melodies, I would craft each of these short scores with elaborate orchestrations and lush instrumentation. Many instrumental artists would influence a few of these themes and incorporate many non-traditional instruments while infusing extraordinary arrangements into these scores. When writing the moods created in these scores, I wanted to take listeners to far-off places.
These scores, which range from the big theatrical sound of “Rock’s Mega Theme” and its brass melodies to more intimate pieces like “A Day In Fallbrook” and its soft subtle orchestrations, are evidence of my appreciation of other similar works by far more skilled composers.
Early in 1995 was approached to reproduce the theatrical score for Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” for the stage. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to recreate and reproduce Danny Elfman’s incredible score, an opportunity I certainly could not and would not have passed up. Enjoy the samples of these are also below.
