Lyrics

Yeah Here I Am Sitting On This Bar Stool
Talking Like A Damn Fool
Got The Twelve O’clock News Blues
And I’ve Given Up Hope
For The Afternoon Soaps
And A Bottle Of Cold Brew

Is It Any Wonder I’m Not Crazy
Is It Any Wonder I’m Sane At All

Well I’m So Tired Of Losing
I’ve Got Nothing To Do And All Day To Do It
Well I’d Go Out Cruising But I’ve No Place
To Go And All Night To Get There

Is It Any Wonder I’m Not A Criminal
Is It Any Wonder I’m Not In Jail

Is It Any Wonder
I’ve Got Too Much Time On My Hands
It’s Ticking Away With My Sanity
I’ve Got Too Much Time On My Hands
It’s Hard To Believe Such A Calamity
I’ve Got Too Much Time On My Hands
And It’s Ticking Away Ticking Away From Me

Too Much Time On My Hands
It’s Tick Tick Tick Tick Ticking Away
(Too Much Time On My Hands)
I Don’t Know What To Do With Myself
(Too Much Time On My Hands)

Solo

Too Much Time On My Hands
Too Much Time On My Hands
Too Much Time On My Hands

Now I’m A Jet Fuel Genius
I Can Solve The World’s Problems
Without Even Trying

I’ve Got Dozens Of Friends
And The Fun Never Ends
That Is As Long As I’m Buying

Is It Any Wonder I’m Not The President
Is It Any Wonder I’m Null And Void

Is It Any Wonder I’ve Got
Too Much Time On My Hands
It’s Ticking Away With My SanityI’ve Got
Too Much Time On My Hands
It’s Hard To Believe Such A Calamity
I’ve Got Too Much Time On My Hands
And It’s Ticking Away Ticking Away From Me

Too Much Time On My Hands
Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick Ticking Away
(Too Much Time On My Hands)
Now I Don’t Know What To Do With Myself
(Too Much Time On My Hands)

Umm Mmm
(Too Much Time On My Hands)
Tick Tick Tick Ticking Away
(Too Much Time On My Hands)
Umm Mmm
(Too Much Time On My Hands)

Too Much Time On My Hands
Too Much Time On My

I Get Up And Nothin’ Gets Me Down
You Got It Tough I’ve Seen The Toughest Around
And I Know Baby Just How You Feel
You Got To Ro-o-oll With The Punches
And Get To What’s Real

Ah Can’t You See Me Standin’ Here
I Got My Back Against The Record Machine
I Ain’t The Worst That You’ve Seen
Ah Can’t You See What I Mean

Ah Might As Well Jump (Jump)
Go Ahead And Jump
Get It And Jump (Jump)
Go Ahead And Jump

Aaa-ohh Hey You Who Said That
Baby How You Been
You Say You Don’t Know
You Won’t Know Until You Begin

Can’t You See Me Standing Here
I Got My Back Against The Record Machine
I Ain’t The Worst That You’ve Seen
Ah Can’t You See What I Mean

Ah Might As Well Jump (Jump)
Go Ahead And Jump
Get It And Jump (Jump)
Might As Well Jump
Jump

Solo

Oh Oh
Might As Well Jump (Jump)
Go Ahead And Jump
Get It And Jump (Jump)
Might As Well Jump

Spending All My Nights
All My Money Going Out On The Town
Doing Anything Just To Get You Off Of My Mind

But When The Morning Comes
I’m Right Back Where I Started Again
Tryin’ To Forget You Is Just A Waste Of Time

Baby Come Back Any Kind Of Fool Could See
There Was Something In Everything About You
Baby Come Back You Can Blame It All On Me
I Was Wrong And I Just Can’t Live Without You

All Day Long
Wearing A Mask Of False Bravado
Trying To Keep Up A Smile That Hides A Tear
But As The Sun Goes Down
I Get That Empty Feeling Again
How I Wish To God That You Were Here

Baby Come Back Oh Baby
Any Kind Of Fool Could See
There Was Something In Everything About You
Baby Come Back You Can Blame It All On Me
I Was Wrong And I Just Can’t Live Without You

Now That I Put It All Together
Give Me The Chance To Make You See
Have You Used Up All The Love In Your Heart
Nothing Left For Me Ain’t
Is There Nothing Left For Me

Baby Come Back Any Kind Of Fool Could See
There Was Something In Everything About You
Baby Come Back Listen Baby
You Can Blame It All On Me
I Was Wrong And I Just Can’t Live Without You
I Was Wrong And I Just Can’t Live

Baby Come Back Oh Baby
Any Kind Of Fool Could See
There Was Something In Everything About You
Baby Come Back Listen Baby
You Can Blame It All On Me
I Was Wrong And I Just Can’t Live Without You

Baby Come Back Any Kind Of Fool Could See
There Was Something In Everything About You

I Don’t Mind You Comin’ Here
And Wastin’ All My Time
‘Cause When You’re Standin’ Oh So Near
I Kinda Lose My Mind

It’s Not The Perfume That You Wear
It’s Not The Ribbons In Your Hair
And I Don’t Mind You Comin’ Here
And Wastin’ All My Time

I Don’t Mind You Hangin’ Out
And Talkin’ In Your Sleep
It Doesn’t Matter Where You’ve Been
As Long As It Was Deep Yeah

You Always Knew To Wear It Well And
You Look So Fancy I Can Tell
I Don’t Mind You Hangin’ Out
And Talkin’ In Your Sleep

I Guess You’re Just What I Needed
(Just What I Needed)
I Needed Someone To Feed
I Guess You’re Just What I Needed
(Just What I Needed)
I Needed Someone To Please

Solo

I Don’t Mind You Comin’ Here
And Wastin’ All My Time Time
‘Cause When You’re Standin’ Oh So Near
I Kinda Lose My Mind Yeah

It’s Not The Perfume That You Wear
It’s Not The Ribbons In Your Hair
I Don’t Mind You Comin’ Here
And Wastin’ All My Time

I Guess You’re Just What I Needed
(Just What I Needed)
I Needed Someone To Feel
I Guess You’re Just What I Needed
(Just What I Needed)
I Needed Someone To Please
I Guess You’re Just What I Needed
(Just What I Needed)
I Needed Someone To Feel
I Guess You’re Just What I Needed
(Just What I Needed)
I Needed Someone To Please Yeah Yeah
So Please Me

You’re Just What I Needed
You’re Just What I Needed
You’re Just What I Needed
Yeah Yeah-yeah

Hey Hey Hey Hey
Ooh Woah

Won’t You Come See About Me
I’ll Be Alone Dancing You Know It Baby
Tell Me Your Troubles And Doubts
Given Me Everything Inside And Out And

Love’s Strange So Real In The Dark
Think Of The Tender Things
That We Were Working On
Slow Change May Pull Us Apart
When The Light Gets Into Your Heart Baby

Don’t You Forget About Me
No No No No
Don’t You Forget About Me

Will You Stand Above Me
Look My Way You Never Love Me
Rain Keeps Falling Rain Keeps Falling
Down Down Down
Will You Recognize Me
Call My Name Or Walk On By
Rain Keeps Falling Rain Keeps Falling
Down Down Down Down

Hey Hey Hey Hey
Ooh Whoa

Don’t You Try And Pretend
It’s My Feeling We’ll Win In The End
I Won’t Harm You Or Touch Your Defenses
Vanity And Insecurity Ah
Don’t You Forget About Me
I’ll Be Alone Dancing You Know It Baby
Goin’ To Take You Apart
I’ll Put Us Back Together At Heart Baby

Don’t You Forget About Me
No No No No
Don’t You Forget About Me

As You Walk On By
Will You Call My Name
As You Walk On By
Will You Call My Name
And You Walk Away

Will You Walk Away
Will You Walk Away
Come On Call My Name
Will You Call My Name

I Say
La La La La La La La La La
La La La La La La La La La La
La La La La La La La La
La La La La La La La La La

La La La La La La La La La La
La La La La La La La La

The Lights Go Out And I Can’t Be Saved
Tides That I Tried To Swim Against
Have Brought Me Down Upon My Knees

Oh I Beg I Beg And Plead
Singin’ Come Out Of Things Unsaid
Shoot An Apple Off My Head
And A Trouble That Can’t Be Named
A Tiger’s Waiting To Be Tamed Singin’

You Are
You Are

Confusion Never Stops
Closing Walls And Tickin’ Clocks
Gonna Come Back And Take You Home
I Could Not Stop That You Now Know

Singin’ Come Out Upon My Seas
Cursed Missed Opportunities
Am I A Part Of The Cure
Or Am I Part Of The Disease Singin’

You Are
You Are
You Are
You Are

You Are
You Are

And Nothing Else Compares
And Nothing Else Compares
And Nothing Else Compares

You Are
You Are

Home Home
Where I Wanted To Go
Home Home
Where I Wanted To Go
Home (You Are)
Home Where I Wanted To Go
Home (You Are)
Home Where I Wanted To Go

As I Was Walking
Down The Street One Day
A Man Came Up To Me And Asked Me
What The Time Was
That Was On My Watch
Yeah And I Said

(I Don’t) Does Anybody Really
Know What Time It Is
(Care) Does Anybody Really Care
(About Time) If So I Can’t Imagine Why
(Oh No No) We’ve All Got Time Enough To Cry

And I Was Walking Down The Street One Day
A Pretty Lady Looked At Me
And Said Her Diamond Watch
Had Stopped Cold Dead And I Said

(I Don’t) Does Anybody Really Know
What Time It Is
(Care) Does Anybody Really Care
(About Time) If So I Can’t Imagine Why
(Oh No No) We’ve All Got Time Enough To Cry

And I Was Walking Down The Street One Day
Being Pushed And Shoved By People
Trying To Beat The Clock Oh No
I Just Don’t Know I Don’t Know I Don’t Know-oh
And I Said Yes I Said

(People Runnin’ Everywhere
Don’t Know Where To Go
Don’t Know Where I Am
Can’t See Past The Next Step
Don’t Have Time To Think Past The Last One
Have No Time To Look Around
Just Run Around Run Around Think Why)

(I Don’t) Does Anybody Really
Know What Time It Is
(Care) Does Anybody Really Care
(About Time) If So I Can’t Imagine Why
(Oh No No) We’ve All Got Time Enough To Die

Everybody’s Working
(I Don’t Care) I Don’t Care
(About Time) About Time
(Oh No No) I Don’t Care

The Album

In 2007, I reconnected with my long-time friend and former bandmate, Gary Zdenek. We had a jam session with a few other guys, eventually forming a cover band called Room For Five. Our band’s original lineup included Charlie Askley on lead vocals, Mark DeVilbiss on bass/vocals, Gary Zdenek on drums/vocals, Craig Ott on guitar/vocals, and myself on keyboards.

As Room For Five, we covered primarily songs from the 50s through the ’70s, performing classics from artists like The Beatles, Elvis, and The Who, among many others. After playing a few small venues, our band’s lineup changed with the departure of Charlie Askley. We decided to change our band name and our lead vocalist, and we became The HitMen. In late 2008, we debuted with Mark DeVilbiss on bass/vocals, Gary Zdenek on drums/vocals, Craig Ott on guitar/vocals, and myself on keyboards.

With The HitMen, we expanded our music catalog by including many songs from the 80s. We played at more venues, including Splits Lounge, Pelican Isle, and many exclusive events. Our band continued to evolve, and we eventually added a new bass/vocalist, a vocalist/guitarist, and a new name. SlipJacket was born, and we said goodbye to our time as The HitMen.

In 2010, the last incarnation of The HitMen saw a name change and the addition of world-class bassist/vocalist Wayne Green, formerly of 4play and The Grumps. Wayne was our first and only choice to replace our previous bassist, and with his addition, SlipJacket’s music direction exploded. Our band lineup included Gary Zdenek on drums/vocals, Craig Ott on guitar/vocals, and myself on keyboards/vocals. The band also had virtuoso guitarist and vocalist Godofredo Bautista.

We started playing songs from all six decades, including music from groups like Train, Player, Midnight Oil, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Snow Patrol, New Radicals, Big Country, Van Halen, Coldplay, and Simple Minds, among others. Our venues also expanded, and we played at Mills Creek, The White House, The Back Alley, Original Mike’s, and The Canyon Inn.

Unfortunately, my decision to move my family out of the state would eventually end my tenure with SlipJacket. However, to date, SlipJacket continues to perform. As a tribute to our band’s journey, we have included a live promotional demo on this page, featuring classic covers from STYX, Van Halen, Coldplay, Chicago, The Cars, and Simple Minds.
